The description below can contain some spoilers if you haven't read the previous books, so please check them out first :)

Book 3 can now be pre-ordered from Amazon.

Frazil is to be crowned king. Will he uphold his promises to his allies and prove himself a capable ruler? How far will he go to assert dominance over his perceived adversaries? Emissaries from other cities of the kingdom arrive bringing living gifts to sacrifice for the benefit of the new king's family. Istrae is hardly the official head of the temple but she is the spiritual leader of the city whether she wants it or not. Can she condone a sacrifice that holds no purpose but to commemorate the coronation now that she is powerful enough to stop it? Even if the sacrifices are to be from the ranks of Aderas's long-time enemies, the arochs. Riestel demands help to find his daughter but Istrae fears what she might find if she agrees to assist.
